Far Rockaway, N.Y.-based St. John's Episcopal Hospital will receive $10.15 million in state grants to enhance healthcare delivery, Times Ledger reported.
Following the closure of Peninsula Hospital in 2012, the 240-bed St. John's became the only hospital serving the Rockaway Peninsula and its 130,000 residents. More than 400 physicians and 1,500 employees work at the hospital.
The money is from $672.9 million in state grants New York City received to promote healthcare services. The state's Capital Restructuring Financing Program and the Essential Health Care Provider Support System will appropriate the funds.
