The American Medical Association said Aug. 16 the Current Procedural Terminology code set is ready for third doses of Pfizer's and Moderna's COVID-19 vaccines.
The FDA on Aug. 12 amended the emergency use authorizations for Pfizer's and Moderna's COVID-19 vaccines, allowing for a third booster dose in immunocompromised people. A COVID-19 booster plan for Americans who are not immunocompromised could come as early as this fall, according to people familiar with the effort.
The AMA published a CPT code for a third dose of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine July 30. It is 0003A. Now the AMA has also published one for a third dose of Moderna's vaccine, and it is 0013A.
