Albany Medical Center Plans $22M Upgrade

 

Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center is planning a $22 million renovation project, according to a Times Union report.

The renovation would consolidate areas used for children's surgery and upgrade a 57,000-square-foot space. The hospital plans on assigning specific children's operating rooms and bringing them together with children's post-surgical suites. Currently, children's surgery is performed in any available operating room, said Melissa Ehlers, MD, a pediatric anesthesiologist at the hospital.

The hospital has applied to the to the city's Capital Resource Corp., to issue bonds for the project on the medical center's behalf, according to the report.
