Health insurer Aetna has decided not to participate in Connecticut's health insurance exchange.
The insurer filed with the state's insurance department in May to sell individual health plans through the state exchange under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. However, Aetna withdrew its filing last Friday, saying it made the decision following a national review of its health insurance exchange strategy.
Aetna also decided last week to withdraw from Georgia's insurance exchange and announced in June that it will drop out of California's individual customer market at the end of the year.
