AdventHealth invests in solar panels to save $20M over 2 decades

Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth has invested in the installation of 7,500 solar panels that will save the health system an estimated $20 million over two decades.

The panels will sit on top of four buildings and two garages at the health systems corporate headquarters in Altamonte Springs, according to a March 21 news release.

Solar canopies will also be constructed across the parking lot, with more electric vehicle charging stations added to support 62 electric vehicles.

The solar system will bring 4,200 megawatt hours of annual electricity and decrease the campus utility-provided electricity reliance by around one-third.

The panel project is expected to be complete by the end of 2024. AdventHealth has vowed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from electricity by 50% by 2030.
