About 900 women's health clinics have lost federal funding after the Trump administration implemented a rule that prohibits taxpayer-funded family planning clinics from performing abortions or providing referrals for abortions, according to NBC News.
The Trump administration began enforcing the rule in July, which forced clinics to decide between receiving Title X funds, or withdrawing from the program and relying on alternative sources like donations and private grants.
According to the report, all clinics in Vermont, Maine, Utah, Oregon and Washington walked away from the federal program.
In addition, 26 other states also have seen drops in the number of clinics using the Title X programs, including Florida, California and New York, according to the report.
