Nine hospitals and health systems received a credit downgrade during the past month, according to a report from HFA Partners.
The hospitals and health systems receiving credit downgrades included the following:
- Crozer-Keystone Health System (Upland, Pa.) — from BBB- to BB (S&P)
- Good Shepherd Medical Center (Longview, Texas) — from Baa3 to Ba3 (Moody's)
- Helen Keller Hospital (Sheffield, Ala.) — from Ba2 to Ba3 (Moody's)
- Henry Ford Health System (Detroit) — from A2 to A3 (Moody's)
- King's Daughters' Medical Center (Ashland, Ky.) — from A2 to A3 (Moody's)
- Lowell (Mass.) General Hospital — from BBB+ to BBB (S&P)
- Mississippi Baptist Health System (Jackson) — from BBB+ to BBB (Fitch)
- Monongahela (Pa.) Valley Hospital — from Baa1 to Baa2 (Moody's)
- Winthrop University Hospital Association (Mineola, N.Y.) — from Baa1 to Baa2 (Moody's)
Two more hospitals and health systems garnered a credit upgrade in the past month:
- Bridgeport (Conn.) Hospital — from A to AA- (Fitch)
- Willis-Knighton Health System (Shreveport-Bossier City, La.) — from A to A+ (S&P)
