CFOs are increasingly taking on expanded responsibilities, reflecting the growing complexities of hospital operations and the demand for strategic financial leadership.
Here are nine CFOs who recently took on broader roles with their health systems:
1. Robin Damschroder was promoted from executive vice president and CFO to executive vice president, president of value-based enterprise and CFO of Detroit-based Henry Ford Health.
2. New York City-based Montefiore Health System executive vice president and CFO Colleen Blye added chief business officer to her title.
3. Opelousas (La.) General Health System CFO Jim Juneau was promoted to executive vice president of business strategy and finance.
4. Kristin Kearney's CFO role of Tower Health Medical group, part of West Reading, Pa.-based Tower Health, was expanded to include CFO of Reading Hospital in West Reading, Pa.
5. Atlanta-based Grady Health System CFO Anthony Saul was promoted to a dual CFO, COO position.
6. Howard Brown was appointed CFO for a third Orlando (Fla.) Health hospital, and now oversees financial operations for: Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, Orlando Health-Health Central Hospital and Orlando Health-Horizon West Hospital.
7-9. Johnson City, Tenn.-based Ballad Health expanded the roles of several CFOs within its 20-hospital system:
- Sean Mills, CFO for Ballad's Northern region since 2023, was promoted to senior vice president and CFO of acute services and market operations.
- Joshua McFall, CFO of acute services market operations, was named CFO of corporate, retail and nonacute services.
- Chase Wilson, CFO of four hospitals in the system's Southern region, was appointed CFO of a fifth hospital: Johnson City Medical Center.
