7 recent hospital, health system capital projects

Here are seven recently announced, started or completed capital projects at hospitals and health systems, beginning with the most recent.

1. Kaleida Health breaks ground on $270M children's hospital
New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo announced Buffalo, N.Y.-based Kaleida Health broke ground on the $270 million John R. Oishei Children's Hospital in Buffalo.

2. Adventist La Grange Hospital to renovate, expand over next 18 months
Adventist La Grange (Ill.) Hospital announced it will be undertaking a major capital project over the next 18 months that will include increasing the number of emergency department rooms at the hospital from 16 to 23.

3. Sinai Health System receives $31M from city of Chicago for major redevelopment project
Chicago-based Sinai Health System is planning a $100 million project that will convert semi-private rooms at Mount Sinai Hospital to private rooms, and the system already received $31 million from the city of Chicago for the redevelopment.

4. Pocono Medical Center to build hospital facility in Tannersville, Pennsylvania
Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg, Pa., announced plans to build a campus hospital facility on a 40-acre site in Tannersville, Pa.

5. Memorial Hermann announces plan to build $168M medical campus near Cypress, Texas
Houston-based Memorial Hermann Health System announced plans to build an 80-bed hospital as part of a major medical campus in the Cypress, Texas area.

6. $185M Mission Hospital wing to treat neurological, spine conditions opened
A new five-floor, 90,000-square foot wing at Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, Calif., began admitting patients seeking neurological and spine care on Oct. 13.

7. University of Michigan Health System plans operating room expansion
The Board of Regents approved a $23.5 million renovation and expansion project at University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, part of University of Michigan Health System.
