1. The ransomware group responsible for the Feb. 21 cyberattack on UnitedHealthcare subsidiary Change Healthcare used stolen credentials to remotely access the company's systems, according to testimony from UnitedHealth CEO Andrew Witty.
2. Becker's reported on six health systems that named revenue cycle vice presidents in April.
3. Ensemble Health Partners is expanding its partnership with Microsoft to accelerate innovation of EIQ, its proprietary revenue cycle intelligence platform.
4. Coos Bay, Ore.-based Bay Area Hospital plans to lay off several workers in non-patient-facing roles as it outsources its revenue cycle management operations. The full transition to the new vendor, which the hospital has not named, is expected to begin in May and conclude in October.
5. UnitedHealth Group on April 16 held its first earnings call since it reported the cyberattack of its Change Healthcare subsidiary. On the call, CEO Andrew Witty called Change an important acquisition for the company, adding, "I think [it's] important for the country that we own Change Healthcare."
6. West Reading, Pa.-based Tower Health is partnering with Ensemble Health Partners to manage the health system's revenue cycle operations. Tower Health will transition its revenue cycle operations, utilization review, patient access services, and provider advisers to Ensemble on July 1. Around 675 Tower Health employees will be rebadged as Ensemble employees
