66% of Uninsured Young Adults Find Health Insurance Unaffordable, Survey Finds

A new Deloitte survey has found 66 percent of uninsured young adults ages 19 to 34 believe health insurance is unaffordable.

The survey also made the following findings:

1. Forty-six percent of uninsured young adults do not see the value in health insurance.

2. Forty-five percent of young adults are unaware the government offers money to low-income people to help pay for health insurance.

3. Forty-seven percent of young adults are unaware some state Medicaid programs now allow in more people to get coverage.

The results were based on online survey responses from 500 randomly selected young adults.
