Three health systems based in Chattanooga, Tenn. — CHI Memorial Health Care System, Erlanger Health System and Parkridge Health System — are spending millions of dollars on expansions and renovations, according to a Chattanooga Times Free Press report.
Here is a breakdown of the projects, based on the report.
1. Parkridge Health System is planning a $62 million expansion and renovation project at its downtown Chattanooga campus.
2. The changes will include large new operating rooms, a new interventional catheterization lab, newly remodeled patient rooms, a new pharmacy and a new entrance.
3. Erlanger Health System obtained $70 million in bond money to help finance a $50 million expansion of the Erlanger East Campus in Chattanooga into a full-service hospital.
4. Erlanger Health System has plans for a new $11.5 million children's and women's ambulatory center. The system also intends to make $8.5 million in surgical improvements and add a new orthopedic center.
5. A $318 million multiphase expansion project was completed at CHI Memorial Health Care's downtown Chattanooga and Hixson, Tenn., campuses last summer.
6. The downtown project included two building additions and multiple renovation projects. The work included the North Tower, which has been called the Guerry Heart and Vascular Center, and the South Tower renovation, which included a new hybrid operating room.
