A majority of Americans say further price transparency fixes should be a "top priority" for Congress, a Kaiser Family Foundation poll found.
The poll, published Dec. 20, asked 1,259 U.S. adults how they would prioritize a variety of healthcare policies, according to a news release.
Of the respondents, 60 percent said passing a law to make healthcare prices more transparent to patients should be a "top priority" for the next Congress. Another 35 percent said transparency laws were "important, but not a top priority."
A majority of respondents — 54 percent — said strengthening requirements to ensure parity for mental and physical health should be a top priority, and 51 percent said increasing funding for mental health should be a top priority.
The poll was conducted from Nov. 29 to Dec. 8.
