Five hospitals and health systems received a credit downgrade during the past month, according to a report from HFA Partners.
The hospitals and health systems receiving credit downgrades included the following:
- Arnot Ogden Medical Center (Elmira, N.Y.) — from "A-" to "BBB+" (S&P)
- Baptist Memorial Health Care (Memphis, Tenn.) — from "AA-" to "A" (S&P)
- Kershaw Health (Camden, S.C.) — from "BBB+" to "BBB" (Fitch)
- St. Luke's Health System (Boise, Idaho) — from "A2" to "A3" (Moody's), from "A" to "A-" (S&P)
- University Medical Center Corp. (Tucson, Ariz.) — from "Baa1" to "Baa2" (Moody's)
Seven more hospitals and health systems garnered a credit upgrade in the past month:
- Bridgeport (Conn.) Hospital — from "A3" to "Aa3" (Moody's)
- Cooper Health System (Camden, N.J.) — from "Baa3" to "Baa2" (Moody's)
- Fletcher Allen Health Care (Burlington, Vt.) — from "BBB+" to "A-" (Fitch)
- New York Methodist Hospital (Brooklyn, N.Y.) — from "Baa2" to "Baa1" (Moody's)
- Stanford Hospital & Clinics (Palo Alto, Calif.) — from "AA-" to "AA" (Fitch)
- Valley View Hospital (Glenwood, Colo.) — from "BBB+" to "A-" (S&P)
- Winchester (Mass.) Hospital — from "BBB+" to "A-" (S&P)
