5 hospital CFOs in the headlines this week

Here are five hospital and health system CFOs who were in the news this past week.

1. Weldon Gage was in the news this week as he accepted a position as CFO at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Mr. Gage previously served as CFO at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

2. Angela Swearingen, CFO at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va., was in the news this week discussing the hospital's contribution of $75,000 to United Way of the River Cities, which was generated through an employee-fundraising campaign.

3. Sergio Melgar, executive vice president and CFO at Worcester, Mass.-based UMass Memorial Healthcare, was in the news this week discussing the steps the system has taken to improve its financial performance.
