Technology and the global economy are at the core of several of the trends healthcare and data software company ESO has made for the hospital industry in 2023.
"With the macroeconomic concerns heading into 2023, hospital systems will need to think critically about 2023 budgets and create long-term strategies to maintain resources across the healthcare continuum," company Chief Medical Officer Brent Myers, MD, said in a Jan. 30 news release from ESO.
ESO's four hospital predictions for 2023:
1. Hospitals will continue to feel the effects of global economic pressures.
2. Technology will play an even greater role as telemedicine is here to stay, access to wearable technology evolves and companies such as Amazon and Zoom start healthcare divisions.
3. Macroeconomic conditions and the emergence of virtual and digital healthcare options will continue to disproportionately affect rural geographies.
4. Data interoperability will continue to be essential as hospitals close, merge and are acquired and new platforms such as smartwatches emerge.
