The revenue cycle management market is projected to grow to $9.9 billion by mid-2016, according to recent Black Book projections.
With 45 percent of the nation's struggling hospitals planning to outsource all or most of their RCM solutions, Black Book surveyed 2,250 CFOs, CIOs, business office managers, technology and financial services staffers for their outsourcing vendor perceptions and user experiences, with 445 hospitals from 40 states represented in the poll.
Here are the top RCM outsourcing vendors based on user satisfaction.
1. Parallon was rated the top RCM outsourcing vendor among hospitals with 150 beds or less.
2. Conifer was rated the top RCM outsourcing vendor among hospitals with more than 150 beds.
3. Optum was rated the top RCM outsourcing vendor among health systems, including integrated delivery networks and accountable care organizations.
