3 things to know about Experian and its database for patient identification

Experian Health, a provider of comprehensive revenue cycle products and services, chose MongoDB as its nonrelational database.

Here are three things to know about the database.

1. Experian Health currently serves 3,200 hospitals and 10,000 other healthcare organizations.

2. MongoDB helps Experian Health manage patient data for these healthcare clients.

3. Through MongoDB, Experian Health built a Universal Identity Manager patient identifier platform for medical groups. The platform "brings together data from disparate databases, systems and data formats to create a single view of a patient" and aims to "improve the safety, speed, quality and cost of care for patients and caregivers," according to a joint statement from MongoDB and Experian Health.
