Jacksonville (Fla.)'s Memorial Hospital has completed a $3.6 million emergency department expansion project, according to a Jacksonville Business Journal report.
The project, which was done at the hospital's flagship location on University Boulevard South, includes five additional private-patient rooms and two additional triage rooms "while reconfiguring the existing space," according to the report. Also, resuscitation rooms were redone to make room for more equipment to benefit those that are critically ill, and renovations were done to the ExpressCare facility, according to the report.
"We are continuously looking for ways to better serve the growing needs of the community," Memorial Hospital President and CEO Jim O'Loughlin told the Jacksonville Business Journal. "As the busiest emergency room in the city, we wanted to continue to provide high-quality, compassionate care in an environment that allows us to treat patients as quickly and as efficiently as possible."
