2 Tenet Hospitals in California Embroiled in Contract Talks With UnitedHealthcare

Two California hospitals within Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare Corp. have until July 31 to reach a new contract with health insurer UnitedHealthcare, according to a Desert Sun report.

UnitedHealthcare patients will no longer be in network at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs and JFK Memorial Hospital in Indio if the parties do not reach a new three-year deal, according to the report.

Tenet and UnitedHealthcare officials told the Desert Sun they expect a contract will be reached, but a timetable for negotiations was not listed.
