13 RCM service expansions in May

Here are 13 revenue cycle management service expansions involving healthcare vendors and providers, implemented or announced in May.

1. An unnamed large West Coast-based academic hospital will deploy eValuator automated pre-bill coding analysis technology from Streamline Health Solutions. 

2. GeBBS Healthcare Solutions will open its second delivery center in Manila, Philippines. 

3. Methodist Health System in Dallas chose VisitPay's cloud-based patient financial experience platform.

4. TransUnion agreed to purchase Healthcare Payment Specialists, a healthcare advisory service focused on Medicare reimbursement.

5. AccessOne completed its acquisition of patient financial services provider HealthFirst Financial.

6. Wellsoft Corp. and Venture Development-GoRev are teaming up to provide urgent care centers with an EHR, practice management and revenue cycle management solution suite. 

7. GeBBS Healthcare Solutions partnered with Prospect Medical Holdings for health information management and revenue cycle management.

8. R1 RCM, a revenue cycle management services provider, completed its acquisition of Intermedix Corp. for about $460 million.

9. Health IT company MTBC agreed to acquire most of Orion Healthcorp's revenue cycle, practice management and group purchasing organization assets, as well as assets of 13 of its affiliate companies.

10. The SSI Group revealed a new revenue cycle offering called Access Director.

11. Bethlehem, Pa.-based St. Luke's University Health Network is offering patients more options for paying their medical expenses and managing their finances via its new online bill pay system.

12. Healthcare revenue cycle management software provider Ontario Systems acquired Justice Systems.

13. Loyale Healthcare and ClearBalance entered a partnership that will expand Loyale's patient engagement platform to include ClearBalance's patient financing solutions.
