The Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center has officially opened its doors, according to a San Francisco Chronicle report.
Last weekend, more than 150 ailing patients were moved from the 1970s-era main hospital to the new, neighboring Zuckerberg San Francisco General.
The move took about a day, but almost three years of planning, Iman Nazeeri-Simmons, the hospital's COO, said, according to the report.
The new seismically safe facility, San Francisco's only trauma center, features 284 beds, compared with 252 in the old building.
