The Westchester Medical Center Health Network and HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley unveiled Thursday a five-year, $133.6 million expansion project that will kick off with the expansion of HealthAlliance Hospital's Mary's Avenue Campus in Kingston, N.Y.
The Mary's Avenue campus will undergo an 110,000-square-foot expansion — featuring a four-story tower — and a 70,000-square-foot renovation. When completed, the updated 437,000-square-foot, energy-efficient hospital will contain 141 private patient rooms, a 25,000-square-foot emergency center, a birthing center, pharmacy and two-story main entrance and lobby.
The hospital will also offer an improved surgical department that will include an advanced medical imaging center, two computer-enhanced impatient surgical suites, an outpatient surgery unit, an expanded postoperative recovery unit and an advanced endoscopy services center. About $112 million of the total $133.6 million is designated for the campus' expansion project, said David Scarpino, president and CEO of HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley.
Hospital officials say construction will start in late 2017 and continue for two years.
The expansion is the first project under the organizations' "Healthy Neighborhood Initiative." Further projects include turning HealthAlliance Hospital: Broadway Campus into a "medical village" that acts as a hub for primary care services, details of which will be announced in the near future, according to the report.
