WellStar Paulding Hospital completed a two-story renovation of its Hiram, Ga.-based facility, doubling its bed count from 56 to 112, reported the Dallas Patch.
The 295,000-square-foot facility was built in 2014. After the hospital treated more patients than expected in its first year, leadership discovered a need for the $14 million expansion, which added two patient floors with private rooms.
Hospital staff gave input for the expansion design, making minor changes to improve efficiency and safety.
The addition also created 124 jobs at the hospital.
