Birmingham, Ala.-based Baptist Health partnered with the University of Alabama at Birmingham Health System to open a clinic at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery.
The UAB Medicine Multispeciality Clinic at the Baptist Medical campus will open Aug. 1 on the first and second floors of the UAB School of Medicine. Baptist Health recruited 10 physicians — employed by the UAB Health Services Foundation — to provide surgical procedures and treatments currently not offered at the facility. The clinic will specialize in urology, gastroenterology, endocrinology and rheumatology
"We look forward to extending the important mission of UAB Medicine to help more patients access world-class healthcare across Alabama," said UAB Health System CEO Will Ferniany. "Closer proximity to care can improve health and quality of life, and this partnership will bring important specialties closer to those in and around Montgomery."
The clinic will be owned and operated by Baptist Health, which has been affiliated with UAB Health System since 2005. Many physicians will start seeing patients in early August.
