Texas Health Presbyterian to double in size with $68M expansion

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Allen is planning a $68 million expansion that will double its size to meet the increasing demand for services in Collin County.

The project calls for the construction of a new, three-story patient care tower with 75 medical/surgical beds, two operating suites and a cardiac catherization lab.

"This is a very exciting day in the history of our hospital," said Jared Shelton, president of Texas Health Allen. "This new expansion will enable Texas Health Allen to offer more services, supply much-needed bed capacity and signal to our growing community that we are committed to improving their health and well-being for many years to come."

In addition to patient care areas, the hospital will offer pharmacy and laboratory services.

Construction of the 108,000-square-foot building will begin in September. It's slated to open in the second quarter of 2020.
