Bethlehem, Pa.-based St. Luke's University Health Network is unveiling a $5 million, 24-bed expansion at its Warren campus, located in Phillipsburg, N.J.
The new medical and surgical unit, which opened Wednesday, includes rooms specifically designed to accommodate orthopedic surgery, bariatric and pediatric patients, according to the Lehigh Valley Live.
St. Luke's Hospital – Warren Campus officials say the new units offer enhanced privacy and space for patients and their families.
"This is the first brand new medical/surgical patient unit opened at St. Luke's Warren Hospital in more than 30 years," campus President Scott R. Wolfe said in a statement. "We are very proud to offer our patients these spacious, beautifully appointed rooms where they can receive quality medical care in peaceful, comforting surroundings. Research has shown that private rooms contribute to a greater sense of well-being and improved patient outcomes — meaning patients heal better, sooner."
The new unit is part of a larger $108 million effort by St. Luke's University Health Network to expand and renovate the Warren campus and outpatient facilities in the surrounding area.
