Bethlehem, Pa.-based St. Luke's University Health Network has opened its seventh hospital, according to The Morning Call.
The new four-story hospital in Bartonsville, Pa., includes 9,700 square feet of space, according to the report, which notes contruction is also underway on an adjacent 37,500-square-foot office building.
Monroe Campus President Donald Seiple said the addition of a new hospital is beneficial to the region in that it injects a measure of competition into local healthcare services and helps meet growing demand for those services, according to the report.
The Monroe Campus, once fully staffed, will employ about 450 workers.
