Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J., is embarking on a $60 million expansion project for its emergency department, according to NJ.com.
The project, which will add 20,000 square feet to the ED, is expected to take two years. Once completed, the ED will feature more than 100 new, private patient rooms, as well as an expanded pediatric emergency department.
After completion of the expansion, RWJ University Hospital's ED will have the capacity to treat 120,000 patients per year, up from the current rate of 95,000.
