RegionalHospital of Scranton (Pa.) is building a $15 million, 12,000-square-foot heart care center, according to The Times-Tribune.
The new Commonwealth Health Heart & Vascular Institute will be built on the hospital's second floor in a space that is currently used for conference rooms and the physical therapy department, according to the report.
The hospital also plans to add eight beds to its intensive care unit for a total of 24 beds, according to the report.
The new heart institute will include three catheterization labs and an electrophysiology lab; a new endovascular suite and hybrid operating room; 10 private prep and recovery rooms; and a five-bay post-anesthesia area, according to the report.
Construction on the hospital has already begun and is expected to be completed in early 2017.
