Providence Tarzana (Calif.) Medical Center plans to build a $624 million upgrade to its patient wing, emergency department and other areas, according to a Los Angeles Daily News report.
Here are five things to know about the proposed project.
1. Improvements include constructing a new, six-story patient wing that will feature 190 private rooms. The hospital also would like to improve its pediatric and neonatal intensive care units, along with the existing, 33-bed Women's Pavilion, according to the report.
2. Additionally, the hospital will make seismic upgrades to the medical facility, and make improvements to the front lobby and parking structure.
3. The hospital will have 244 beds once the expansion is complete.
4. The project is expected to bring 1,000 additional construction jobs to the area.
5. Construction is slated to start next year and is expected to be completed in 2022, Dale Surowitz, Providence Tarzana's CEO, told the Los Angeles Daily News.
