OSU Wexner Medical Center looks to suburbs for outpatient expansion

Columbus-based Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center has approved another land purchase for its suburban expansion of outpatient care facilities, according to The Columbus Dispatch.

The latest purchase in Dublin, Ohio, is the third ambulatory facility planned for the suburbs of Columbus, in addition to centers on the Northeast Side and Powell. All three facilities will be about 200,000 square feet and feature primary care, behavioral health, obstetrics and other specialty services.

"I think it is a recognition that in order to be more competitive in terms of access and convenience, [outpatient care] is important," said Dan Like, executive director of ambulatory services at the hospital. "The demand for our services is there. We just want to provide another quality choice in these communities we’re going into."
