Officials from East Stroudsburg, Pa.-based Pocono Health System and Allentown, Pa.-based Lehigh Valley Health Network plan to build their proposed joint medical campus on the site of a former hotel in Tannersville, Pa., according to Lehigh Valley Business.
LVHN and Pocono merged Jan. 1. The agreement specified the institutions would jointly construct a 48-bed acute care community hospital that could expand to fit 72 beds if necessary. Officials plan to brand the merged entity Summit Health Campus.
On Monday, the Pocono Township Planning Commission recommended plans for the health campus' size and storm water modifications be presented to township commissioners for approval, according to the article.
Officials from both institutions told Lehigh Valley Business they could not confirm the proposed location of the health campus because officials are "in the planning stages" and that those plans are still "being determined," according to the article.
