NYU Lutheran Medical Center, part of NYU Langone Health System, will expand the hospital's main campus in Brooklyn, N.Y., according to the Brooklyn Daily Eagle.
Plans include adding more floor space to the main hospital structure, as well as building a new ambulatory and outpatient facility at the site of a current parking lot near the hospital.
A bridge and underground tunnel would connect the main hospital building to the ambulatory surgery center, according to Joseph Lhota, senior vice president and chief of staff at NYU Langone.
Expansion plans are still in the early stages. The hospital must gain approval from the New York City's planning commission before construction can begin.
