Northside Hospital-Atlanta will build an eight-story addition to an existing building on its Sandy Springs, Ga.-based campus, pending approval from city council, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
The proposed expansion would add 53 beds to the 537-bed hospital, along with nine observation beds for stays less than 24 hours and 57 beds moved from other areas of the facility.
Plans also call for a new 10-story parking structure with 1,277 spaces. Right now, the hospital has 4,665 parking spaces to accommodate 7,000 staff members and 4,570 patient visits a day, according to the report.
The Sandy Springs City Council will review Northside's expansion proposal Oct. 18.
