New Milford (Conn.) Hospital opened its first primary care practice to curb emergency department visits through preventive care access, newstimes reports.
The nine-room practice, housed in New Milford Hospital, began accepting patients this spring. Roughly 500 patients visited the practice within its first month and a half of operation.
New Milford Hospital's parent company — Danbury, Conn.-based Western Connecticut Health Network — allocated about $2.1 million toward the practice.
