The opening of Medical University of South Carolina Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital has been pushed back again, according to local news station WCSC.
The Charleston-based hospital now is slated to open next year after the 200-bed building failed to pass all of its regulatory inspections.
"Unfortunately, we learned yesterday that additional adjustments are needed before we can move in. This means that the opening will not occur on Dec. 14 as we had hoped," Tony Ciuffo, an MUSC spokesperson, told WCSC.
This marks the second time the hospital's opening has been stalled. MUSC had an initial opening scheduled in October.
A new opening date has yet to be selected.
The hospital doesn't expect any financial issues from the delay, according to the report.
