Methodist Health System to build 11th hospital

Dallas-based Methodist Health System is planning to build a new facility in Midlothian, Texas — its 11th hospital.

Methodist will operate the facility in conjunction with Methodist Mansfield (Texas) Medical Center. Initial plans for the new hospital include an emergency department.

Methodist will build the hospital on 65 acres of land. The health system plans to begin construction in late summer 2018, with an anticipated opening date in late 2019.

"We've seen how the communities of Midlothian, Mansfield, Grand Prairie, Arlington and many others have embraced Methodist, so constructing Midlothian's first hospital is a natural fit for Methodist Health System and Methodist Mansfield," said Pam Stoyanoff, executive vice president and COO of Methodist Health System.
