To address growing emergency department service needs, Jacksonville, Fla.-based Memorial Hospital is planning a $23 million expansion to its southside facility's ED.
The expansion includes 23,000 square feet of building space, renovation of the facility's current ED and relocation of pediatrics ED rooms, entrance and waiting area to the main ED building. A rooftop helipad will be constructed, parking will be reconfigured and the ED's entryway will be expanded and remodeled.
The multiphase project is slated to begin in early 2017 and continue for 18 months to two years.
