Blacksburg, Va.-based LewisGale Hospital Montgomery will expand four departments to meet increasing community demands, WDBJ7 reported.
Here are five things to know about the renovations.
1. The project's estimated cost is $6 million.
2. The number of rooms in the hospital's emergency department will increase from 15 to 19, and two new triage areas will be added, as well as up-to-date technology with a digital radiology system. ED renovations will begin in the next 60 days.
3. LewisGale will expand an inpatient unit and surgical department for advanced technologies and less invasive procedures.
4. An energy management system will be added to control the facility's heating and air with an alarm set for when temperature and humidity are unsynchronized. The facility's security system will see an enhancement as well.
5. The project is slated for completion next year.
