Journey Mental Health Center in Wisconsin to move, expand

Safety-net mental health and substance abuse provider Journey Mental Health Center in Madison, Wis., plans to move and expand, the Wisconsin State Journal reported.

The center will relocate its headquarters from downtown Madison to west Madison in August, and will change its name to Journey Health Wellness Recovery. The new facility will be twice the size of its previous headquarters.

The name change is partly the result of a $1.6 million federal grant the center received in October to begin offering primary care services, the Wisconsin State Journal reported.

CEO Ron Lampert said Journey is looking for county and state funding changes, as well as pursuing mergers with nonprofits that provide similar services. Journey will expand to Columbia County in September, and Mr. Lampert said he may pursue expanding the center to additional counties and states.

Established in 1948, Journey has 10 locations in Wisconsin and served 12,210 patients last year, an increase from 8,585 in 2012, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.
