Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital to build research and education building

Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Fla., unveiled plans to build a new 230,000-square-foot research and education building on a recently acquired 1.4-acre plot neighboring its St. Petersburg campus.

The hospital selected CBRE Healthcare to provide project management and related consulting services.

The research and education building will be located near the hospital and the Outpatient Care Center. It will be connected to the OCC by an enclosed, air conditioned bridge.

The new space, which will serve as an educational center for pediatric resident physicians and fellows, will offer a simulation lab for clinical teaching, collaborative environments for research and space to share research findings. There will also be laboratories for bench and translational research.

The $95.5 million project is expected to be completed in mid-2018.
