Freeman Medical Center announces $13M renovation project

Downers Grove, Ill.-based Freeman Medical Center announced a $13 million renovation and expansion project after receiving complaints of insufficient space at the hospital and nursing home, according to the Mitchell Republic.

The small expansion of the nursing home will increase maneuvering space in bathrooms and establish more single-patient rooms. The project will create more space in patient rooms at the hospital by reducing the number of beds at the facility from 18 to eight.

Freeman Medical Center also plans to build a centralized entrance that allows access to all facilities.

The hospital's board of directors is working to secure funding and finalize plans. The renovation project is expected to start in fall or winter this year.
