Indianapolis-based Franciscan Health will begin work on $50 million outpatient and specialty care complex and a conjoining microhospital that will include an emergency department in White River Township, Ind.
The proposed three-story, 85,000-square-foot medical complex will include 58 rooms for family medicine and internal medicine services and six consultation rooms for clinical educators. Other additions include a pediatric wing with 16 rooms, a 15-room flex clinic used for rotating specialty physicians, a rehabilitation area with seven bays, space for OB-GYN care and a wellness space for services like therapy and acupuncture.
The connecting 20,000-square-foot Franciscan Health Stones Crossing microhospital and emergency department will provide outreach to the surging population in Indiana's northern Johnson County, according to Franciscan Health. The facility will include 10 emergency bays or rooms operating on a 24/7 basis with imaging and lab support, as well as eight inpatient rooms.
"Franciscan Health is committed to providing high-quality healthcare with convenient access to those we serve," President and CEO James Callaghan, MD, said in a prepared statement. "White River Township in Johnson County has experienced dynamic growth in recent years and we have been researching and planning the development of a medical complex that best serves the overall needs of people in this area and beyond."
Construction is set to begin in March 2017, with completion expected in late fall 2018.
