Buffalo, N.Y.-based DeGraff Memorial Hospital, owned by Kaleida Health in Buffalo, will undergo a $7.8 million expansion of the hospital's emergency department, according to The Buffalo News.
According to the article, the expansion will double the ER's size from 4,800 square feet to roughly 10,000 square feet.
Kaleida Health officials said the ER's new location on the east side of the campus would grant patients and visitors better access to parking.
The project has yet to be approved by the state Department of Health. If approved, construction would begin Jan. 2017.
The expansion would mark the hospital's first renovation since 1975, according to the article.
