Cincinnati Children's Hospital is one step closer to seeing a $300 million to $500 million expansion project come to fruition, according to a Cincinnati Business Courier report.
Here are four things to know about the project.
1. The Cincinnati Planning and Zoning Commission greenlighted the hospital's plans, despite opposition from the Avondale Community Council, according to the report.
2. The project would include a new 650,000-square-foot, eight-story patient tower as well as the addition of 1,100 spaces to the parking garage, the report states.
3. The patient tower would bring the number of beds on Cincinnati Children's main Avondale campus to 610.
4. The Cincinnati City Council will now consider the project, and hospital officials hope to begin construction on the patient tower this fall, according to the report.
