The Washington State Department of Health approved CHI Franciscan Health's request to expand St. Anthony's Hospital in Gig Harbor, reports The News Tribune.
Plans call for a fifth floor to be built on top of the hospital's existing structure. The project will create 25,000 square feet of additional space and add 32 beds, bringing the hospital's total bed count to 112.
The project, which will cost about $15.6 million, is expected to be completed in the next 12 to 16 months, according to the report.
