Centerstone Hospital, based in Bradenton, Fla., recently completed a 2,900-square-foot expansion of its psychiatric unit, according to the Bradenton Herald.
The expansion, which cost about $540,000, boosted the hospital's bed count from 30 to 37. The updated unit features new patient rooms, a community day room and a café,
Centerstone's administrative area was moved from the south wing of the hospital to make room for the psych unit's expansion, according to Healthcare Design Magazine.
While the hospital held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday to unveil the new psych unit, the hospital accepted patients in its new wing beginning Sept. 12 to keep up with care demands.
