A new rehabilitation hospital is slated to come to Lafayette, Colo., thanks to a partnership between Boulder (Colo.) Community Health and Albuquerque, N.M.-based Ernest Health, according to a BizWest report.
Here are four things to know about the project.
1. The $24 million freestanding hospital is slated to have 40 beds.
2. The new hospital will cater to "patients recovering from or living with disabilities caused by injuries, illnesses or chronic medical conditions," according to the report.
3. In addition to private rooms, the new hospital will include a gym and outdoor therapeutic courtyard.
4. Officials are expected to break ground on the project this fall, and it is expected to take approximately 12 to 15 months to complete, according to the report. BCH currently directly provides inpatient rehabilitation services at a 14-bed rehabilitation unit in Boulder. However, the report notes, those services will cease once the hospital opens.
