Baton Rouge General to centralize cancer services in $10M project

Baton Rouge (La.) General will expand cancer services at its Bluebonnet campus in Baton Rouge, The Advocate reports.

The proposed $10 million project will centralize radiation, chemotherapy, imagining and hematology and oncology services of the Pennington Cancer Center on Bluebonnet's first floor.

In addition, the expansion will feature a chemo pharmacy, oncology lab and larger infusion rooms. The number of infusion stations will increase from 17 to 34.

Baton Rouge General will begin work on the center early next year, with the center set for completion in early 2019, the report states.
